Diet showdown: can a Low-Carb plan tame a rare hormone disorder?

NCT ID NCT07100587

Summary

This study tested whether a ketogenic diet (very low carb, high fat) or a Mediterranean diet (plant-based, healthy fats) works better to help control hormone levels and improve metabolic health in people with active acromegaly. Twenty-six adult patients with this rare hormonal disorder tried each diet for three weeks. Researchers measured changes in key hormones and health markers to see which eating pattern was more beneficial.
