First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study tested whether a ketogenic diet or a Mediterranean diet better helps control acromegaly, a condition where the body makes too much growth hormone. Twenty-six adults with active acromegaly followed each diet for three weeks. The main goal was to see changes in IGF-1 levels, a key hormone marker. The study also looked at weight, blood sugar, and safety.
