Could a High-Fat diet shrink swelling? new trial tests ketosis for lymphedema
NCT ID NCT03991897
Summary
This study is testing whether changing the body's metabolism through a ketogenic diet or ketone supplements can improve the function of the lymphatic system and reduce swelling in people with arm lymphedema. Researchers will compare a strict ketogenic diet, a standard diet with ketone supplements, and a standard diet alone in 81 participants. The goal is to see if this dietary approach can offer a new way to manage this chronic condition, which currently has no cure and requires lifelong therapy.
