Ketamine may cut morphine need after breast cancer surgery

Summary

This study tested whether adding ketamine to general anesthesia could reduce the need for morphine and lessen pain after breast cancer surgery. About 230 adults having a mastectomy or lumpectomy took part. The goal was to see if ketamine helps control post-operative pain and lowers the side effects of morphine.
