Ketamine shows promise for stubborn bipolar depression

NCT ID NCT05339074

Summary

This study tested whether regular ketamine infusions could help maintain relief from severe bipolar depression in people who initially responded to the treatment. Forty-one adults with treatment-resistant bipolar depression received flexible-dose ketamine infusions every 2-4 weeks for 12 weeks. The goal was to see if this maintenance approach could safely keep depression symptoms at bay while minimizing side effects.
