Summary
This study tested a single injection of KAI-1678 to see if it could reduce pain from postherpetic neuralgia, a nerve pain that lingers after shingles. Twenty-three adults with long-term pain took part. The drug was compared to a placebo and an active painkiller to measure its effect on pain intensity.
