Phone app aims to be a lifeline for teens on therapy waitlists
NCT ID NCT06239519
Summary
This study is testing whether a smartphone app called JoyPop can help teenagers manage difficult emotions, stress, anxiety, and depression while they wait to start formal mental health therapy. Researchers will compare 110 teens aged 12-17 who use the app to those who receive usual care (just waiting). The goal is to see if the app provides helpful support during what can be a stressful waiting period, especially for youth in rural areas with limited service access.
