First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Jazz music listening and mindfulness

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a non-addictive, drug-free way to help manage chronic pain and anxiety at home.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage behavioral study with no blinding or control group, so results may be due to placebo or attention effects. It also only includes people with anxiety, so it may not apply to all chronic pain patients.
