New jaw scanner could offer simpler diagnosis for chronic facial pain

NCT ID NCT07486609

Summary

This study is testing whether a new jaw motion tracking device can accurately diagnose temporomandibular disorders (TMDs), which cause chronic jaw and facial pain. Researchers will compare the device's results against two standard diagnostic methods: a clinical exam checklist and MRI scans. The study involves 29 adults with chronic facial pain who will undergo both the new jaw motion test and the standard diagnostic approaches.
