New device spots dangerous IV leaks before nurses can

NCT ID NCT06758011

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested a device called ivWatch® that monitors IV sites during chemotherapy. If the medication starts leaking out of the vein, the device alerts the nurse early, before visible signs appear. Over 2,400 cancer patients took part to see if the device could prevent tissue damage from these leaks.
