First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage trial tests a single injection of ITX24-01 in 32 adults with severe chronic facet joint pain in the neck or lower back. The main goal is to see if the drug is safe and tolerable compared to a placebo. Researchers will also look for early signs of pain relief.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ITX24-01
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment for severe chronic neck and lower back pain caused by facet joints.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1b trial with only 32 participants, so it is primarily checking safety, not effectiveness. The treatment may not reduce pain or could cause side effects.
