Common fungus drug may boost esophageal cancer treatment

Summary
This study tests whether adding itraconazole, a common antifungal medication, to standard chemotherapy and radiation can improve outcomes for people with esophageal cancer. About 78 participants will receive itraconazole before surgery to see if it increases the rate of complete tumor disappearance. The goal is to make the standard treatment more effective by blocking certain cancer growth signals.
