First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests an implant called iSTEP-N that releases naltrexone over many months to block the effects of opioids. It involves 33 healthy adults aged 18 to 55 who will receive either a low-dose or high-dose implant or monthly Vivitrol injections. The goal is to see if the implant can keep steady medication levels in the blood for up to a year, potentially reducing the need for frequent shots.
