Quick 2-Minute exercises may help tame high blood pressure
NCT ID NCT07251920
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether doing simple isometric exercises (pulling a band at 30% effort for 2 minutes) 1, 2, or 3 times a week can lower blood pressure in people with borderline or high blood pressure. 30 adults who were not on medication participated. The goal was to find the smallest effective dose to make exercise easier to stick with.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
isometric resistance training (exercises using a band at 30% effort)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a quick, low-effort exercise option to help control blood pressure without medication.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The exercises are very specific and may not work for all types of high blood pressure.
