Summary

This study looks at whether giving iron to anemic patients before heart surgery improves their long-term recovery. About 400 adults with iron deficiency anemia having major heart surgery will get either iron supplements or standard care. Researchers will track quality of life, sleep, and fatigue over time to see if the iron helps.
