Can a machine replace hands-on therapy for breast cancer arm swelling?

NCT ID NCT07154043

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether using a compression sleeve (intermittent pneumatic compression) can replace or be added to standard manual lymphatic drainage to reduce arm swelling in breast cancer survivors. About 45 women with long-term lymphedema will be assigned to one of three groups: compression alone, manual therapy alone, or both. The goal is to see which approach works best for reducing arm size and improving movement and quality of life.
