New drug combo aims to boost cervical cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT07232654

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This Phase 2 trial is testing whether adding an experimental immune therapy (Iparomlimab/Tuvonralimab) to standard chemoradiation can improve outcomes for 30 women with locally advanced cervical cancer. The treatment targets two immune checkpoints to help the body fight cancer. The main goal is to see if more patients are cancer-free after two years.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Iparomlimab/Tuvonralimab (a combination of two immune-boosting antibodies) plus chemotherapy (cisplatin) and radiation therapy

What this could lead to

If successful, this could offer a new treatment option that improves long-term control of locally advanced cervical cancer.

What could go wrong

This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The combination therapy may cause significant side effects, and it is not yet known if it works better than standard care.
