First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether giving insulin through a nasal spray can prevent delirium (sudden confusion) in patients aged 65 and older after complex heart surgery. About 30 participants will receive either the insulin spray or a placebo to see if the approach is practical, safe, and shows promise in reducing delirium severity and duration.
