Nose spray before heart procedure may shield against heart attacks

Summary

This study tests if giving a nose spray of dexmedetomidine before a heart procedure (PCI) can reduce heart injury or heart attack. About 1800 adults will receive either the drug or a placebo spray. Researchers will check blood markers and track heart events for 30 days to see if the spray is safe and effective.
