First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study tests whether a wearable device that delivers intermittent white light at 60 Hz can safely help people with moderate to severe depression. Thirty adults on stable antidepressant medication will wear the goggles for 30 minutes daily over two weeks. The main goal is to check safety and tolerability, while also looking for any improvement in mood.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a new, non-invasive, side-effect-free treatment option for depression.
