Last-Ditch tooth rescue: pull it out and replant it?
NCT ID NCT06893107
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a procedure called intentional replantation for single-rooted teeth that are considered hopeless due to advanced gum disease. Researchers will remove the tooth, treat it outside the mouth, and put it back in the socket. They will track bone healing, pain, and tooth mobility over 9 months in 45 adults aged 18-70. The goal is to see if this approach can save teeth that would otherwise be extracted.
