Summary

This study compares two types of talk therapy for 294 teens aged 14-21 with alcohol or cannabis use disorder. One group gets a new program that combines 12-step support with motivational counseling, while the other gets standard motivational therapy alone. The goal is to see which approach leads to more days without substance use and fewer related problems over a year.
