Nerve block test could unlock clues to insulin resistance

NCT ID NCT03318094

Summary

This study aims to understand how nerve signals that tighten blood vessels might contribute to insulin resistance, a condition common in obesity. Researchers will test if temporarily blocking these nerve signals in the arm improves blood flow and the body's ability to use insulin to process sugar. The study involves 36 adults, including obese individuals with and without insulin resistance, as well as healthy lean individuals for comparison.
