Could a simple pump change make labor safer for moms with diabetes?
NCT ID NCT07420972
Summary
This study is testing if it's safe and practical for pregnant people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes to continue using their personal insulin pump during labor. Currently, they are often asked to switch to insulin given through an IV, which can be stressful and may disrupt blood sugar control. The study will enroll about 30 people to see if staying on the pump is feasible and acceptable, and will compare their results to past patients who used the standard IV insulin.
