Buddy up & eat well: new study fights diabetes with friends and food vouchers
NCT ID NCT06001801
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a support buddy and healthy food vouchers to a standard diabetes prevention program helps low-income adults with prediabetes stick with healthy habits and lower their risk of developing diabetes. About 142 participants will be split into two groups: one gets the standard program, the other gets the program plus a peer partner and vouchers for healthy food. The goal is to see if the extra support leads to better attendance, weight loss, and improved blood sugar levels over six months.
