Summary
This study tested whether adding an inhaled antibiotic (amikacin) to standard treatment helps ICU patients recover faster from ventilator-associated pneumonia. Researchers tracked how quickly the infection cleared, how long patients needed the ventilator, and any side effects. The trial included 90 adults aged 18-80 who were on ventilators and diagnosed with VAP.
