First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study follows 1500 healthy infants from birth to age 4 to understand how their first exposure to influenza—either through vaccination or natural infection—affects their immune system's response to future flu exposures. Pregnant mothers are enrolled before delivery, and their babies are monitored over time. The goal is not to test a new treatment but to gather knowledge that could improve flu prevention strategies for children.
