Summary

This study looks at whether taking a single 1 mg dose of dexamethasone at bedtime can make screening for primary aldosteronism more accurate in people already taking blood pressure medications. Primary aldosteronism is a condition where the adrenal gland makes too much aldosterone, leading to high blood pressure that needs different treatment. About 240 adults aged 40–75 with high blood pressure and an adrenal mass will take the dexamethasone test one to three times and collect urine for 24 hours. The goal is to see if this simple pill can help doctors correctly identify who has the condition, even when other medications might interfere with test results.
