First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study involved 120 children and adults with sickle cell disease to develop a more accurate way to estimate kidney function. Current tests are not designed for sickle cell patients, so researchers are creating a new equation using biological markers. The goal is to improve how doctors monitor kidney health in this population.
