Doctors step in to tell families about hidden cancer risk

NCT ID NCT05772130

Summary

This study tests whether having healthcare providers contact family members directly about inherited cancer risk leads to more genetic testing than when patients share this information themselves. Researchers are comparing two approaches: one where patients share results with relatives, and another where providers also contact relatives to discuss testing. The goal is to help more at-risk family members learn about their cancer risk and get potentially life-saving care.
