First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special conversation called Motivational Interviewing at Intake (MII) helps adults with substance use disorders stay engaged in outpatient treatment. About 150 adults from two clinics will be randomly assigned to MII or standard intake. Researchers will track attendance, completion, and readiness to change, and also ask staff about how easy it is to use MII in everyday practice.
