Radiation's hidden power: unlocking immune secrets in lung cancer

NCT ID NCT03603002

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 37 times

Summary

This study looked at how radiation therapy changes the immune response in patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer. Researchers took small tissue samples (biopsies) before and after radiation to see how immune cells called T-cells react. The goal was to understand if radiation helps the immune system recognize and attack the tumor. Six patients participated, and the study focused on measuring immune changes rather than providing a new treatment.
