New imaging study peers inside lungs to track scarring treatment

NCT ID NCT07572383

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study uses special PET and MRI scans to see how immunosuppressive drugs (like mycophenolate or prednisone) affect collagen buildup and tissue damage in the lungs of people with certain types of interstitial lung disease (ILD) that are not idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Researchers will scan 15 adults before and after starting treatment to measure changes in lung scarring. The goal is to better understand how these drugs work, not to test a new cure.
