NCT ID NCT07573423
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested two ways of closing the skin after reversing a temporary stoma (ileostomy). 252 adults were randomly assigned to either a straight-line closure or a purse-string closure that leaves a small opening for drainage. The goal was to see which method leads to fewer surgical site infections. Results may help surgeons choose the best technique for faster, safer recovery.
