Blood marker may reveal hidden inflammation in arthritis patients

NCT ID NCT07648836

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study will measure a protein called IL-41 in the blood of 90 people with ankylosing spondylitis or psoriatic arthritis, plus healthy volunteers. Researchers want to see if higher levels of this protein are linked to more active disease. The goal is to find a simple blood test that could help doctors track inflammation and disease activity in these chronic conditions.

If successful, this could point toward a new way to measure disease activity in these conditions using a simple blood test.
What could go wrong
