Could an arthritis drug ease tough schizophrenia symptoms?
NCT ID NCT07615075
First seen Jun 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether mirikizumab, a drug that blocks IL-23 (a protein involved in inflammation), can improve negative symptoms like lack of motivation and social withdrawal in people with schizophrenia. The trial enrolls 40 adults who have a specific immune marker (AGA IgG antibodies) linked to higher inflammation. Participants continue their usual antipsychotics and receive either mirikizumab or a placebo for 16 weeks to see if symptoms and thinking improve.
