New drug combo targets Hard-to-Treat lung cancer in early trial
NCT ID NCT07174583
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jul 10, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests a new drug called IDE849, alone or with other drugs, in people with cancers that have a protein called DLL3, including small cell lung cancer. The trial has two phases and aims to see if the drug is safe and shrinks tumors. About 208 participants who have already tried standard treatments will take part.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- IDE849 (a drug given intravenously), sometimes combined with durvalumab (another IV drug) or IDE161 (an oral drug)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could point toward a new treatment option for small cell lung cancer and other DLL3-expressing tumors that have stopped responding to standard therapy.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-phase trial (Phase 1/2) with only 208 participants, so the drug may not prove effective or safe enough for wider use. Side effects are still being studied.
