NCT ID NCT01838798
Summary
This study aimed to understand how being on a ventilator in intensive care affects patients' memory and emotional health months later. Researchers followed 125 patients who were sedated and on breathing machines, checking in with them at 2 and 4 months after leaving the hospital. The goal was to measure how many people experience thinking problems and emotional distress after this traumatic medical experience.
