New care models tackle the gut-brain connection in chronic bowel disease

NCT ID NCT03985800

Summary

This study tested two different ways to deliver care for adults who have inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) along with anxiety or depression. Researchers compared an in-person team-based approach with a technology-supported approach using health coaches and digital tools. The goal was to see which method worked better to reduce both bowel disease symptoms and mental health symptoms, and to improve patients' quality of life.
