First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares two types of exercises—hypopressive exercises and the Paula method—to see which better helps postpartum women with urinary incontinence. Sixty women who had a vaginal delivery and leak urine at least once a week will do one of the two exercises twice a week for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in leakage severity, pelvic floor muscle strength, and quality of life.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward effective non-drug exercise options for managing postpartum urinary incontinence.
