Hypnosis shows promise for diabetes Self-Care in small trial

NCT ID NCT07279779

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested a new approach called HypnoDiaCare, which combines hypnosis with diabetes education, to see if it helps adults with type 2 diabetes manage their condition and feel better. Fifty-four participants were split into three groups: one received hypnosis-based education, another received standard diabetes education, and a third watched neutral images. The study measured changes in self-management and quality of life after two sessions. Results could point to a new, non-drug way to support diabetes care.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a new, drug-free way to help people with type 2 diabetes better manage their condition and improve their quality of life.
