First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill) to the standard drug tolvaptan can better slow kidney function loss and reduce side effects like frequent urination in people with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). About 300 adults on stable tolvaptan will receive either hydrochlorothiazide or a placebo. The goal is to improve both treatment effectiveness and quality of life.
