Heart team may shield brain after valve surgery

Summary

This study will follow 500 people with severe aortic stenosis who are getting a new heart valve. Researchers want to see if a dedicated Heart Valve Unit (a team of heart specialists) can reduce memory loss, confusion, or thinking problems after the procedure. Participants will take thinking and memory tests before the procedure, at hospital discharge, and 3 months later.
