New Parkinson's pill aims to cut down 'off' episodes

NCT ID NCT06596876

First seen Jun 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested a new medication called HRG2010 in 165 people with Parkinson's disease who experience motor fluctuations — times when their symptoms return between doses. The goal was to see if HRG2010 could reduce daily 'off' time better than a standard extended-release carbidopa-levodopa. Participants took either the new drug or the standard one for 21 weeks, and researchers measured changes in symptom control and quality of life.
