Which education method boosts cervical cancer screening?
NCT ID NCT07017387
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested two different health education methods to see which better improves women's knowledge of HPV, beliefs about cervical cancer, and screening rates. 90 healthy women aged 30-65 were split into three groups: one got motivational interviewing at home, another got standard education plus phone reminders, and a control group got usual care. The goal was to find the most effective way to encourage cervical cancer screening.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
health education (motivational interviewing or standard)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show which education method better encourages women to get screened for cervical cancer, potentially improving early detection.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 90 participants, so results may not apply to all women. It tests education, not a medical treatment, so direct health impact is limited.
