Can a simple blood test predict cancer return? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT04857528

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a blood test can detect HPV DNA in people with HPV-related anal or cervical cancer who are receiving radiation therapy. Researchers will collect blood samples before, during, and after treatment to see if the virus's genetic material shows up and if it can help predict if the cancer will come back. About 20 adults will take part for up to 2 years. The goal is to learn more about how these cancers respond to treatment, not to test a new therapy.
