Oxford pills probe: testing prozac on healthy young brains

NCT ID NCT07456501

Summary

This University of Oxford study aims to understand how the antidepressant Prozac (fluoxetine) affects thinking and social skills in healthy young adults. Researchers will give 80 participants aged 18-24 either a one-week course of Prozac or a placebo pill, then test their decision-making, emotion recognition, and reactions to social situations. The goal is to gather basic knowledge about how this commonly prescribed medication works in young people, to help guide future treatment decisions.
