First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at 124 women with recent suicidal thoughts to understand how natural hormone changes during the menstrual cycle might increase suicide risk. Participants received a two-week hormone-stabilizing treatment to see if it reduced suicidal thinking around their period. The goal was to learn more about the biology behind short-term suicide risk and help develop better treatments.
