First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether a 4-week home exercise program, guided by a wearable fitness device and supervised remotely, could help lung cancer patients get in better shape before surgery. Thirty people with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer participated. The goal was to see if the program was safe, easy to follow, and improved their fitness and recovery after lung tumor removal.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
supervised exercise program with wearable fitness device
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could help lung cancer patients get fitter before surgery, potentially leading to fewer complications and faster recovery.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study with only 30 participants and no comparison group, so results may not apply to everyone. The exercise program may be too demanding for some patients.
