Cancer treatment moves home: trial tests telemedicine for lung cancer care

NCT ID NCT05340309

Summary

This study is testing whether a lung cancer immunotherapy drug can be safely and effectively given at home by a visiting nurse, with most doctor visits done remotely via video call. It involves patients with non-small cell lung cancer who are eligible for the drug atezolizumab. The main goal is to see if this 'decentralized' home-care model is a practical and satisfactory alternative to frequent hospital visits for treatment.
