First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single dose of (2R,6R)-HNK, a drug related to ketamine, can reduce short-term pain in healthy adults without the addictive risks of opioids. Up to 92 volunteers aged 18-60 will receive either the drug, a placebo, or no treatment, and undergo pain tests and brain scans. The goal is to find safer pain relief options.
